Safe to operate in environments up to 250*F, these bushings are rated to withstand greater forces than the cables themselves. The center bushing is machined from 6061 aluminum and finished in a protective anodized finish.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAnother benefit to our new bushings is their corrosion resistance, meaning they will not rust. Our bushings will feel great for years when installed with the supplied high-temperature grease. Not only are these bushings stronger than the last version, but they’re also easier to install. This wasn’t the first time we’d designed a shifter assembly, so there were already a lot of features we knew we wanted to include in this unit. Among those features was an unparalleled level of adjustability, so that each driver could tweak every aspect of the shifter to suit their own preference. Ultimately, what we developed was a durable, versatile short shifter that is simple enough to allow an affordable price, so you can have your race car without eating ramen noodles for a month.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe shifter’s frame is constructed from TIG-welded, powder-coated, 1000 Series steel. The Dust-Gold anodized upper and lower rocker assemblies are now made of single pieces of Aerospace aluminum and feature custom sealed ball bearings to reduce friction. The new V2 shifter is 60% smoother than the original version requiring much less physical effort to row through gears all while being significantly lighter. Shift throw adjustment is achieved using two threaded cable attachment pins, meaning fine tweaks can be made to shift throw, allowing you to dial in the exact throw that suits your shifting style. Each attachment pin features a wear-resistant Delrin pivot cap for sturdy, quiet operation. New dual, zinc-plated extension springs replace the OEM style torsion centering spring for better-centering action and a more direct feel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe front\/back throw and left\/right throw can be adjusted independently and figures for throw reduction are shown below:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCABLES\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Hybrid Racing cables are a performance upgrade replacement for stock OEM cables. The solid rod ends, 30% thicker cable core and spherical bearings give the Hybrid Racing cables a firmer, tighter feel over OEM cables resulting in fewer missed shifts and a more connected feel to the chassis.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe created a cable to give people peace of mind and improved driving performance when they shift hard and during demanding racing applications and the Hybrid Racing performance cables achieve this goal!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOther notable features of the Hybrid Racing cables are spherical bearings, stainless steel push rods, and upgraded stainless steel swivel support tubes (oem are plastic) that are known to break on the OEM cables. All of the rod ends, and mounting bushings are CNC machined 6061 aluminum that have been heat-treated and coated with a black hard anodized before being laser etched with the Hybrid Racing logo and flair.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAre these cables a direct replacement for my OEM 8th gen style cables?\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYes! We include a new rubber grommet that goes around the OEM cables, so you do not have to re-use your OEM grommet. The OEM cable that controls the right\/left motion of the shifter has been upgraded from a plastic twist-lock bushing to aluminum bushings and spring clip.  This aluminum bushing simplifies installation a bit, but more importantly, it gets rid of yet another plastic part that tends to flex on the OEM cables, leading to a sloppy feeling shift. The extra spring clip that you will need to install the Hybrid Racing cables is included with the cables, so you will not need to buy any other parts. Each set also comes with a new rubber grommet for the hole in your firewall. Also, all shifter cables come with upgraded transmission gear selector springs. This helps to avoid the dreaded hydro-lock that so many people normally worry about in heavy rain. The plastic assembly has the potential to deflect in racing conditions or by using a stronger pressure plate. In 2002, Honda introduced a damper and delay valve in the clutch hydraulic system for US models with K-series powertrains. The damper in the CMC body casting, identified by the external triangular section, reduces vibrations transmitted to the clutch pedal, minimizing cabin NVH and vehicle feedback. We remove this damper to enhance the connection to the powertrain, resulting in increased pedal feedback and consistency at higher engine speeds and loads. This more direct connection is preferred by drivers and racers alike. Upgrading to our CMC kit will improve the pedal feel.
